Baby Steps: This is a support group to assist new and expecting mothers dealing with the emotional transitions of pregnancy and motherhood. New and expecting mothers are invited to attend monthly meetings to learn information about postpartum depression and gain useful tools to help cope with mood disturbances associated with pregnancy and postpartum.  Baby Steps is offered the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month in the evening at St. Clair Hospital.  Please call (412) 942-5882 for additional information.

Free, weekly, facilitated community support for new and expectant mothers experiencing a tough transition or mood and anxiety complications.

La Leche League

La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing support, encouragement, information, and education to women who choose to breastfeed. All women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to attend the monthly Group Meetings or call a Leader for breastfeeding help. La Leche League of Pennsylvania also provides health care professionals with continuing education opportunities and access to the latest research on lactation management.

Doulas are trained professionals who provide continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible. The International Cesarean Awareness Network Inc. (ICAN)

ICAN is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve maternal-child health by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, providing support for cesarean recovery, and promoting Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC). The group holds monthly support meetings where mothers can come and share their experiences in a safe and validating environment. They meet every month on the third Tuesday at 6:30 PM at the Toy Lending Library in Shadyside at 5401 Centre Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232. Children are welcome to attend meetings.
