The University of Pittsburgh is conducting a research study to learn more about how early brain structure relates to infants’ ability to express emotions.

Your participation in this study is voluntary, and includes three research visits plus two MRI Scans at Children’s Hospital:

  • First visit (two parts)-Home visit by the research team when your baby is 3 months old; a 30-minute scan of your baby’s brain while he/she is sleeping at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville.
  • Second visit (two parts) – Interview and filming in our research suite in Oakland when your baby is 9 months old; and a 30-minute scan of your baby’s brain while he/she is sleeping (in the evening) at Children’s.
  • Third visit – Interview and filming in our research suite in Oakland when your child is 18 months old.

You could be paid up to $300 for your participation in this sub-study.
